About Glyfell

Every level is the same move: spell a word by tracing letters that touch on a 7×9 board — in any direction, corners included, so a word can climb or turn. What a level asks for on top of that varies — two thirds show you a definition to find in the letters, and the rest name the words outright, set a score, or start a clock.

What you spell leaves the board, and the rest falls into the space, so each word remakes the puzzle underneath it — and the last word on a board is rarely the one you'd have found first. Campaign boards never refill; the Daily drops a few letters back in, so it can always ask its seven words.

A meaning, not a blank

Most levels show you a definition to find in the letters. Others name the words, set a score, or run a clock — and any word you can trace scores, even when it isn’t the one the level asked for. The longer the word, the more it scores.

Spend the board

Letters you spell with leave for good and everything above them falls, so every word rearranges what's left. Campaign boards never refill — work one far enough and you're choosing between the few words still there.

Sixty-four levels, then more

A campaign of 64 measured boards graded out of three stars, and generated boards waiting past the end of it. Level 1 teaches the game by being played — the rules arrive as you need them, not before.

One Daily board, the same for everyone, worked out from the date — no server decides it, so everybody starts from the same board.

Questions

Do I need to install anything?
No. The browser version is the whole game — campaign and Daily board both — and needs no download or sign-up.
Is it out on the App Store or Google Play?
Yes, on both. Get it from the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. The browser version needs neither and is the same game.
Does the browser version save my progress?
In that browser, on that device. It creates no account and sends us nothing beyond loading the page — clearing the site's data clears your progress with it.
